A sweet and adorable film was uploaded to the official YouTube channel of the British Monarchy, The Royal Channel, which features Paddington Bear participating in a tea party with Queen Elizabeth in celebration of her Platinum Jubilee (60 years of rule as Monarch). The tea party takes place during the Queen’s special Platinum Jubilee Party held at Buckingham Palace on June 4th, 2012.

The short film is featured as part of a featurette on Paddington’s 50th anniversary. As reported by Inside, …an extended cut of a new special called Paddington at Buckingham Palace will be included in a feature-length version of his 2014 film [out Dec. 10]. In it, Paddington (voiced by Ben Whishaw) is seen wandering into Buckingham Palace and catching sight of the elaborate celebrations for The Queen’s reign.
A dapper Paddington Bear was pictured having an impromptu tea party with Her Majesty The Queen in Buckingham Palace’s private garden as she celebrated her 60th year on the throne. Taken from newly released footage of The Queen’s ‘Platinum’ Jubilee party, Her Majesty can be seen chatting and sipping a cup of tea alongside her most cherished toy bear, who was made famous by author Michael Bond.
