Christchurch’s Hillmorton Hospital has managed to avoid resignations since the stabbing of one of its nurses by a patient two weeks ago, according to chief executive David Meates. Since the incident, staff at the hospital have been part of regular hui with management to discuss how they feel and how they can ensure their safety as well as that of their patients in future. It’s understood that a number of staff had been considering resigning prior to the incident.
